Challenges & Solutions

Goals | Challenges | Solutions | Learnings
One challenge was fitting the compositions into the relatively small A4 format. There is a clear development in quality over the three years of the series: from the first piece (“Americano,” 2023) to the last (“French 75,” 2025), I see a noticeable improvement in the lettering in particular. In the process of creating this series, I also learned more about the background and history of the drinks. For example, the famous exclamation attributed to the monk Dom Pérignon upon discovering champagne—“Brothers, come quickly, I am tasting stars!”—is not historically verified, but was actually created by a champagne marketing agent.
